Celebrating National Farmers Market Week

Grassy lawn with over a dozen pop-up tents featuring agricultural products and farm produce

CT RC&D joined veterans, farmers, families and community members at the CT Veteran Farmers’ Market on the beautiful Connecticut Department of Veterans Affairs campus in Rocky Hill, CT.
Throughout the event, CT RC&D staff connected with visitors and shared information about CT Veteran Grown and programs and resources that support agriculture, conservation and local communities across Connecticut.

Farmers markets are more than places to buy fresh, local food. They serve as community gathering places that strengthen local economies, support agricultural producers and build lasting connections between ag producers and consumers.

CT RC&D extends its appreciation to the organizers, vendors, volunteers and community members who helped make this year’s market a success.

WFSB Channel 3 Eyewitness News’ Renee DiNino also stopped by the market and spoke with CT RC&D Executive Director Jocelyn Weir about the event.
