2019 FARM STOPS
The 2019 Tour des Farms is hosted by Fairvue Farms. Fairvue Farms, located next to the historic Woodstock Fairgrounds in Woodstock, has been a Miller family dairy farm since 1962. In the past 40-plus years, the Millers have expanded their herd from 40 to 900 Holstein milking cows, and their cropland has grown to more than 1,800 acres.
The families of the three-generational Miller farm are active in local agricultural committees, as well as statewide organizations. Their participation in the state’s Celebrating Agriculture event allows hundreds of visitors to tour their barns each year.
Farm to Table Market
The fields at Lapsley Orchard have been producing food since early colonial days. In fact, Isreal Putnam once purchased the acres in 1750 and specialized in stock raising and fruit growing. This land is still proudly feeding the community today. Present day production offers the best of a New England farm, with a retail stand offering a diversified selection of fruits and vegetables, including pick your own apples, blueberries, flowers and pumpkins, all grown on sight. Our 200 acre farm is not just a place to shop. It is local, healthy and fresh and comes with a commitment towards the highest quality produce. Our family takes great pride in the harvest of all our hard work, to place on your family's table.
Martha’s Herbary is a unique place to visit all year round. We are a family owned business with four personable employees–Sharon, Nan, Elaine, and Robin–who help make Martha’s Herbary special. Spend the afternoon wandering the beautiful gardens or delighting your senses in the Martha's Herbary shop filled with gifts ranging from bath soaps and salts to fragrant candles, decorative items, beautiful jewelry, stylish clothing, and accessories.

Valleyside Farm in Woodstock has been the Young family's homestead for 9 generations. As dairy farmers, our cows which consist of a 220 milking herd of beautiful Holsteins, are the most treasured part of our farm. The quality milk they produce is shipped to make the Cabot products you love! The land our cows are raised on was originally part of the King’s grant, remaining in our family ever since it was deeded to us. We are blessed to be the caretakers and continue its long standing legacy. As a multigenerational operation, (four currently on the farm) our history drives our future and we are always looking for new technologies and ideas to keep our buisness moving forward, all while keeping with the traditions that have provided our family with a life we love.
Woodstock Orchards LLC is a family-owned and operated fruit and vegetable retail stand also offering pick-your-own apples and blueberries on a seasonal basis. Nestled in the beautiful rolling hills of Woodstock, CT, all of our fruit and vegetables are grown with care on our own farm and picked at peak ripeness. We sell a large variety of our very own farm-fresh vegetables in the summer, opening the season with our asparagus, which many believe to be the best in Windham County. We harvest many varieties of tomatoes, cucumbers, peppers, onions, melons, and specialty garlic. Peaches and plums are harvested in July and August and sold exclusively at our retail store.
