Wiknik

Amy Wiknik grew up on a 120 acre farm in Higganum and helped her family with responsibilities from a young age. She has been involved with 4H since middle school, competing at local fairs and competitions across New England. Following in her late father’s footsteps she attended the agriculture program at Middletown High School, exceling with high marks. By the end of her freshman year of high school, she earned her place among the award winners at the annual Mattabeset FFA banquet receiving the Star Greenhand award and her own FFA jacket. She continued to earn the Connecticut State Star in Agribusiness for developing a rabbit and poultry business on her family’s farm. Now, going into her first year at the University of Connecticut, Amy aspires to serve as the Connecticut State FFA Officer so she can continue to serve the agricultural community. Amy cares deeply about agricultural awareness and has a keen interest in energizing underserved youth to ensure the continued success of agriculture in Connecticut for future generations.
