Small Farm Innovations Program

Students in UConn's Agriculture, Health and Natural Resources program are offering help to farmers interested in starting innovative projects on their farm. The project is open to production farmers in Connecticut who have at least one year of production experience.

The program offers financial and technical support for selected projects starting in Fall 2024. The goal is to help both farmers and train students on the way to making your idea a reality.

Some of the possible projects that farmers might be interested in include:

  • Designing new tools, or redesigning existing tools
  • Looking at infrastructure improvements for energy use, water management or waste management
  • Incorporating data analytics for farm management
