If you were to look at a forest and you had to pick something important, what would it be? You might say the "trees" or the "wildlife". Those are important but there is something slightly more important - the soil. Soil supports our plant and animal life. It is important to take care of our soils so we can continue to produce vegetables to feed folks and avoid trophic cascades in the food chain. Soils often face the threat of nutrient overload due to pesticide application and run off. So what can we do to ensure the soil's health? We can make sure the soil is well aerated and to have a proper nutrient balance in the soil. So are you ready to take care of the Earth's foundation?
